Choosing a variety

With so much choice on the Recommended List, choosing a vareity can be difficult. We have produced some summaries of our winter wheat and hybrid barley varieties to get you started.

Hybrid barley as a grass weed management tool

Over the last five years we have shown how hybrid barley can be an integral part of black-grass management. Further research has shown that these benefits can be seen more widely in grass weed management, including the suppression of brome grass. 

Hybrid barley has shown better suppression of sterile brome than both winter wheat and 2-row winter conventional barley in independent trials.
