The biological seed treatment that acts as a nitrogen "back-up generator"
NUELLO® iN is an innovative biological seed dressing that contains two unique endophyte bacterial strains that capture nitrogen from air to form a steady supply to the crop. It complements standard nitrogen applications as an additional source of nitrogen.
Using NUELLO® iN as an early season source of nitrogen boosts crop vigour, root development and yield potential to support your crop especially in times of nutrient stress
NUELLO® iN is proven effective in:

Light Soils

Dry Weather / Soil Conditions

Wet Weather, Low SMN Levels

Following Nitrogen Hungry Crops
Which layer does your cereal seed need?

Key benefits of treating your seeds with NUELLO® iN
Natural Nitrogen
NUELLO® iN provides atmospheric nitrogen fixation.
Plant Growth
Boosts root and foliage development, increasing biomass.
Nutrient Uptake
Enhanced root system enables plants to more effectively access nutrients.
Risk Mitigation
Acts as a 'backup generator' for a steady nitrogen supply when weather conditions have a negative effect on nutrient availability.
Specific recommendations for your crop
How does NUELLO® iN work?
NUELLO® iN contains two nitrogen-fixing endophyte bacteria strains:
When applied as a seed dressing, these bacteria colonise seeds and seedlings, establishing themselves in the plant's root system as roots emerge. The bacterial colony fixes atmospheric nitrogen throughout the plant's lifecycle, converting it into forms the plant can utilise.

Frequently asked questions
What is NUELLO® iN?
A biological seed treatment, containing two types of nitrogen-fixing endophyte microbes (Curtobacterium salicis and Pseudomonas siliginis). NUELLO® iN is a breakthrough natural seed treatment by Syngenta that infuses your crop with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, extracting nitrogen from the atmosphere. By colonising seeds and seedlings, NUELLO® iN ensures a constant supply of nitrogen throughout the crop's life. Independent trials confirm its efficacy; NUELLO® iN enhances crop growth, resilience, and overall performance.
How do I get NUELLO® iN on my seed?
Farmers can request that their seed is treated with NUELLO® iN, which is available at both static and mobile seed dressers.
Which crops can I apply NUELLO® iN to?
NUELLO® iN can be applied to any type of seed, but most of the current Syngenta trial work has focussed on small grain crops. This research is expanding year on year. The agronomic benefits of NUELLO® iN are confidently expected to apply across agricultural and horticultural crops.
Is NUELLO® iN suitable for organic crops?
NUELLO® iN is approved for use in organic systems. Contact your certification body prior to use.
What is the mode of action of NUELLO® iN?
The microbes enter the crop through the emerging roots. Once inside the plant, they form a mutually symbiotic relationship with the host. The microbes move throughout the plant via the vascular tissue.
How quickly will NUELLO® iN colonise the plant and begin to work?
The biofertiliser will remain stable on the seed until germination. Once this occurs, the symbiotic relationship starts and the nitrogen-fixing and phosphorous utilisation benefits commence. Colonisation and activity are dependent on the germination speed and the crop's metabolic activity.
Can I tell if seed has been treated with NUELLO® iN?
No, there will be no visual differences between treated and untreated seed, but in conventional growing systems, it is recommended to use NUELLO® iN with a fungicide seed treatment like VIBRANCE® Duo.
