As harvest results near completion, we are pleased, but by no means surprised to see that GLEAM has once again come in at 103% of controls.

The AHDB Recommended List harvest results display variety performance, including the 2023 performance vs the 2019-2023 mean. With some varieties in 2023 dropping by nearly 4% compared to the long-term average, GLEAM maintained strong yields, performing above its 5-year mean.

Seeds Technical Manager, Matt Bull says

“GLEAM is a seriously good variety, and we shouldn’t ignore that just because there are newer varieties on the list. Consistency of performance is sometimes difficult to quantify, but GLEAM just does it all, giving the ultimate flexibility on farm.”

The Recommended List trials data set looks at variety performance in a whole range of scenarios. GLEAM is arguably the most adaptable variety in that list, giving very stable performance. Matt adds,

“the 2023 season yet again showed that weather patterns continue to be more unpredictable, and that tested variety resilience. GLEAM is one of those varieties that delivers time and time again, be it as a first or second wheat, early or late drilled and regardless of soil type. We have also seen it perform very well across a range of establishment systems which is testament to the varieties adaptability".
