Our scientists and engineers in the Production and Supply teams work closely with those in R&D to understand how a breakthrough AI can be formulated into high-quality products and turned into full-scale manufacturing. Our UK manufacturing capability enables us to cost-effectively manufacture  AI  and final formulated products in a globally competitive market.  Our planning and logistics teams, ensure we have timely access to quality materials and our customers have the right products at the right time and in the right place.

Active Ingredient Manufacturing

Our two Active Ingredient (AI) manufacturing centres in Grangemouth and Huddersfield have a long history of manufacturing dating back to 1916. Since then, teams of highly skilled manufacturing professionals have pursued continuous improvement paths to introduce new products and improve manufacturing efficiency to provide a globally competitive solution.

Across the two sites are 10 individual manufacturing plants. We collaborate extensively with our other manufacturing centres worldwide, playing important roles in manufacturing our global products at various stages of development. The AIs manufactured in the UK are fundamental for the production of world-leading fungicides, herbicides and insecticide products supplied to farmers across the world.

Formulation, Fill and Pack

At our Grangemouth site, one of our manufacturing assets is a dedicated Formulation, Fill and Pack (FF&P) site. This plant receives active ingredients and formulates them into final products which are then packaged and labelled ready for global distribution.

Our FF&P site can deliver quality at scale in a cost-effective way thanks to a continued approach to manufacturing excellence. Mechanical and digital automation, including packaging robots are used to increase capacity whilst maintaining quality.

The safety and stewardship of our products is of utmost important. All our products are labelled with a unique serial number that our global supply team can track.
