Breeding Insight

ELECTRUM is the highest yielding winter malting barley with an excellent combination of yield, disease resistance, very early maturity and agronomics. Low screenings, good nitrogen and HWE makes it an attractive variety for the maltster too.

ELECTRUM gains MBC Approval for Brewing

ELECTRUM is the latest malting barley from the Syngenta breeding programme to achieve Full MBC Approval for Brewing for harvest 2021. This is an important milestone for the highest-yielding winter malting barley variety on the AHDB Recommended List. Alongside very early maturity and great agronomics, low screenings, good nitrogen and HWE makes it an attractive variety for the maltster too.
