Syngenta Employees team up to litter pick local streets and help local charities.
Syngenta Huddersfield colleagues took on the challenge of a community litter pick, cleaning up areas around the Leeds Road corridor. Their 'bin and gin' event combines a community litter pick with a social get together and also raises funds for local charities.
Eight colleagues walked from the Site and headed out to clean up the local streets. £500 was raised for local foodbank, The Welcome Centre from Huddersfield’s Employees Community Gift fund, a fund where staff make donations from their salary to the local community. The team took on the challenge despite a dreadful weather forecast and powered through the inclement weather to see the job through.
Carl Sykes of Syngenta said “We have been organising our bin and gin events for a while now and what’s unique is that everybody wins, community streets get a clean-up, the Welcome Centre gets a cash donation from our Employees Community Gift Fund and our staff get to do something positive and enjoy the social occasion.”
