Syngenta Apprenticeship Program Wins Award

Syngenta

On-going commitment to Apprenticeships by Syngenta in the UK are recognised in Regional Finals. Syngenta announced as Regional Winner for the Yorkshire & Humber National Apprenticeship Awards 2018.

Success in the 'Large Employer' category is to recognise those companies who can demonstrate outstanding achievements as an employer of apprentices and show an ongoing commitment to developing a skilled workforce through apprenticeships.

Apprenticeship Program Manager at Huddersfield, Ian Nunn said; “The success of our apprenticeship programme has enabled our site to build a skilled sustainable workforce for future operations. Since 2008, we have recruited 51 apprentices representing disciplines in Engineering, Business Administration, Science Manufacturing, Design, IT and Supply Chain and the scheme boasts a 95% retention rate. It has enabled us to attract high-calibre applicants for our apprenticeship opportunities, change the perceptions of the sector and deliver apprenticeships that align with Syngenta and our future skills required. These apprentice ‘graduates’ now make up 12.5% of our workforce at our manufacturing centre.”

Winning the Regional Award means that Syngenta move forward to the UK National Awards program taking place in November and also retains its status as a prestigious Top 100 Apprentice Employer in the UK.
