Daniel Gallagher

Science Manufacturing Apprentice

“I am in the final year of my Science Manufacturing Apprenticeship at Syngenta Huddersfield. Doing an apprenticeship has benefited me greatly as I have learnt key practical and technical skills whilst gaining experience and earning a salary, all of which have enabled me to perform my core role and will allow me to push for further development in the future. The apprenticeship course is very well built and is designed to maximise the learning opportunities that you encounter whether that be ‘on the job’ at work, doing your technical qualification at college or one of the personal development activities. The apprenticeship has been a great choice for me as it has allowed me to provide a practical application to all my college work. Syngenta Huddersfield provides a stable long term career with a good company.”

Tom Petherick

Mechanical Engineering Apprentice

“I am in the 3rd Year of my Advanced Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at Syngenta, Huddersfield. Every day is different on site and I have learnt and progressed many preventative and reactive Engineering based techniques. When I left school I decided that an Apprenticeship was a valuable pathway for me to enter industry by training directly in the skills which employers want on the job while still gaining key qualifications for enhancing my CV and future career. The experience I have gained at Syngenta has helped me become confident and independent as I am learning at a pace suited to myself with the support readily available if needed.”

Jack Holroyd

Business Administration Apprentice

“My 3 years at Syngenta has been amazing and also a learning curve. I was given a vast amount of responsibility over my apprenticeship that pushed and challenged me in all areas of work. An example of this being, on the job and vocational work, pushing my level 3 into a level 5 Supply Chain Management NVQ. The team around me at Syngenta holds a great knowledge base and experience to guide and mentor me in the right direction in order for me to perform to the best of my ability.”
