Potato Science Live 2020 - Somerset

Potato Science Live meeting

We will be discussing a range of topics as follows:

Life after diquat - AHDB will summarise national findings from the desiccation trials they held last year – one of which was held at the SPot Farm at Dillington Farms which several local farmers and agronomists visited.  Also, AHDB will cover storage - what is the latest situation around CIPC? And an update on varietal dormancy work.  There will also be a run through and demonstration of FarmBench - which all Levy Payers already have free access to.

Syngenta’s Potato Technical Specialist, Michael Tait will focus on quality through management of soil-borne diseases with Amistar and PCN management with Nemathorin.  He will also discuss the challenge of managing new strains of potato late blight.

Finally, we plan to have demonstration model of an updated Amistar applicator as well as a demonstration model of the new Closed Transfer System which several chemical manufacturers have committed to support.

This promises to be an informative meeting tackling a number of current issues facing potato growers and we hope you will be able to attend.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available at this meeting
