Rougham Innovation Centre Open Day
Application was a hot topic at Rougham, with the award-winning Defy 3D nozzle taking centre stage. With up to 75% drift reduction and better coverage of the front and back of targets, the nozzles are fast becoming another great addition to any sprayer operator's arsenal, with trials showing an increase in black-grass control of up to 6%. Trialists have also been investigating how Solatenol performs using various application techniques including nozzles and water volumes - the trial demonstrated great versatility across a range of applications and techniques.
High pest pressure this season meant that insecticides were a hot topic at the open day. Syngenta experts were on hand to discuss current insecticide options in OSR and spring and winter beans. Hallmark remains a great option for a wide range of pests across a variety of crops, but it was also an opportunity to look ahead at future chemical possibilities.
Solatenol, our new SDHI fungicide, was being demonstrated, allowing attendees to compare the product against current market leaders (see below). Differences between treatments are becoming clearer, with Solatenol's persistency giving rise to additional green leaf area.
A formal application for the approval of SOLATENOL™ has been submitted to HSE-CRD for evaluation. SOLATENOL™ is a registered trademark of Syngenta.
