LAMMA - Tomorrow’s World of Spray Technology Today
Syngenta’s stand at LAMMA will give many sprayer operators and growers the first chance to see and try out the new industry-wide closed transfer system - easyconnect.
The system, developed by a consortium of leading global agrochemical manufacturers, offers the potential to improve sprayer filling efficiency and operation, whilst at the same time eliminating exposure to operators filling the sprayer and reducing the risk of point-source environmental loss.
Furthermore, the introduction of a new Syngenta mobile phone app, Spray Assist, will ensure operators and agronomists always have the latest information and advice to aid accurate application readily to hand, wherever they are working or making spray recommendations.
This year the working spray rig on the Syngenta stand (Hall 10 Stand 10.300) is focussed on spring grass weed control. It will give an essential practical insight into the challenging techniques and timing for wild oat and ryegrass control, highlighted Syngenta Application Specialist, Scott Cockburn.
“Timing of herbicides, rates used and application technique need to be adapted according to the size of the crop canopy, weed growth stage and conditions,” he advised.
“With this year’s protracted autumn establishment campaign, which could extend well into the winter, variable crop growth stages will add to the complexity and require a more flexible approach.
“LAMMA is an extremely opportune time for sprayer operators and agronomists to get results of the latest research, along with ideas to better target applications in the spring,” added Scott (below, right).
