Breeders Insights

VOLUME offers tried and trusted yield potential. One of our family of high yielding six row Hybrid Barley family, VOLUME was the first and up until recently, the one to beat.  It was the top yielding barley variety on the Recommended List for a mighty seven years only pipped to the ost recently with new HYVIDO varieties BAZOOKA and BELFRY.  If you're new to growing Hybrid Barley this is probably the variety for you, it offers you consistency and a great potential retrun on your initial seed investment. It's relatively tall with moderately stiff straw that benefits management and has a good overall disease profile with strengths in Yellow rust and Rhynchosporium resistance.  Overall VOLUME is now a variety that has proved itself to be high yielding no matter the sil type or season and offers additional benefits such as Black-grass suppression, its proven to reduce the seed return to soil mneaing you can not only increase yields but potentially utilize land previously thought un-farmable.
